It is not difficult to own a vehicle in NY. Just like any other state you have to have a license and insurance and you may also need some credit to purchase it. You may also need an emissions test ran on your car.

The hardest part about owning a vehicle in New York City is parking. It is expensive to rent a space, and hard to find a regular space on the streets.
