Is it common for pugs to have lumpy skin?

Yes I believe it is fatty tissue, and how the pugs were "designed". If you find a defined lump, hard and unmovable, I would take the dog to the vet.

Take your dog to a vet since he could have small skin tumors. Pugs have a lot of skin problems in general so it may be something minor. It could be something common if it was actually on the skin but when you say under the skin it concerns me that it may be something more serious.

It isn't usually common for any dog to have lumps under their skin, especially if they're big. They could be tumors, which need to be checked by a vet. Tumors can either be fatty tumors, which aren't terribly serious, but they could also be cancerous, so it is very important to get them checked.

Lumps under the skin can be bad for any dog it could indicate that the dog has masses under neath and need to be taken to the vet to have a treatment done to indicate if that's the case most of the time they seem to disappear over time if they don't have regular checks with the vet.
