It is not a sin in its own right, but it can lead a person into committing sins if left unchecked. Vanity is one of the seven deadly sins, and a strong ego can turn into this if you are not careful to control yourself.

No. An Ego is the personal side of us that transpires all of our feelings we hold deep into an extenral entity for people to see.
