Yes, polishing wears away at the enamel faster than if they are not. Statements like "if it were bad, they wouldn't do it" is a terrible argument. Research continues to improve and the knowledge we have now shows that polishing is not as effective as once thought. Try fluoride varnish.

Not it is not. They would not do anything that is not good for your teeth. There is a lot of regulations on that. It is actually good.

No, the dental polishing that you get done at your dental cleaning appointments are not bad for your teeth. If they were bad, than dentists would not be performing it on their patients. It is a benefit to your teeth and not a problem at all. If you have more questions, ask your dentist.

No, the polishing that is done at the dental office by either the dentist or denal hygienist is not harmful to your teeth. They would not do it if it were. The polish that is used however, is more abrasive than the toothpaste that you use at home daily.

Dental hygienists polish teeth after a cleaning to leave the enamel smooth. Decay-causing plaque is less likely to build up on smooth surfaces. Polishing will not harm tooth enamel.

No, dental polishing is actually good for your teeth, as it removes the plague and decreases the chance of cavities and gum disease. Dental polishing will also leave your teeth shiny white.

No, that does not make sense. If it was bad for your teeth they would not do it. Dentists are not stupid and would not something that is bad for your teeth. They know more about teeth than you do. I would ask your dentist about it if you have questions or concerns.
