Is crabapple jelly sour?

First, crabapples and regular apples are completely different. Crabapples are much more sour, but they make delicious jelly. Red delicious are just apples, where as crabapples are much more like berries. Crabapple jelly is more tart than sour, and by the time it's done, is very good on toast or bread etc.

Depending on your taste, it may be a little sour. Crabapples are a different fruit that apples, they are grown from a very similar tree, but are smaller. The tree they grow on is also known for it's flowers. The skin of a crabapple is tart, which would make the jelly sour.
