YOu might be out of luck. Petroleum is an oil and oil stains dont generally come out of clothes very will. You can try using a high powered stain pretreater and let it soak. or even baking soda.

Try phoning the company that makes the petroleum jelly. Often they have a customer service department that can answer your question about their product.

Petroleum jelly, Vaseline as it is commonly called as an oilbased product that can be removed from clothing from this procedure. First step, scrape away any excess with a spoon or butter knife, being careful to not damage the cloth. Next step, wet the stain with isopropyl alcohol and blot the area with a clean white pad. And notice the rubbing alcohol breaking down.

Sometimes white "pasty" toothpaste will work to bring out petroleum jelly from clothes. Just put some toothpaste on an old toothbrush and work it into the fabric good. Don't let it set, wash the garmet immediately and it should work. You can toss the garmet in with other clothes in the washer, the toothpast won't hurt anything.

Sprinkle some talcum powder on the petroleum jelly stain and rub in. Let stand for about 30 minutes and then rub off with a clean towel. Wash as usual and the stain should be gone.
