Is boric acid safe to use as a treatment for the eyes?

Boric acid at about 1% to 2% solution is a safe treatment for irritated eyes. A better suggestion is to cut a cucumber in slices and hold on the eyes.

No, boric acid isn't safe to use for the eyes. Boric acid is used to bomb places for roaches. Why would anyone want to put that stuff in his eyes?
