The liage and latex sap of the Ficus lyrata plant are poisonus. It can cause skin irritation and an upset stomach in pets and humans. If skin irritation occurs wash the area with soap and water as the rash can be very serious and painful. Call the poison control center or your docotor if it worsens or continues.

The sap, or juice of the Fiddle-leaf fig plant (Ficus Lyrata) can cause irritation and rash if it comes into contact with your skin. While it is not commonly believed to be "toxic", these rashes can be extremely painful and require medical attention.
