A Macaw is not a good choice for a first-time bird owner. Macaws are large birds that require a very large cage. They can also be very tempermental and dangerous. They have very strong beaks that can easily snap off a finger. You must also realize that Macaws can live up to seventy-five years. Macaws are not for the inexperienced.
