Is a heat gun the best way to remove old oil-based paint from woodwork?

The woodwork has a lot of grooves.

A heat gun is the worst way to remove oil based paint from woodwork unless you are a professional. The best and safest way is to use a liquid type stripper. The liquid stripper will enter the grooves without damaging the wood. The liquid stripper is found at your local hardware stores

A heat gun will loosen up old paint enough that you can take a small scraper and get the paint out of the grooves. A detail sander also works well
