In the Olympics, do they use chlorine in the pools?

They apparently use ozone now for all the olympic games after the LA games. This was because of some swimmers getting asthma after competing in chlorinated pools. Ozone is better and safer apaprently.

Apparently, they do use chlorine in the pools for the Olympic events. However, legal requirements of the levels differ in each country. I think in Europe, levels can be much lower than in the US.

I know that during the Olympic games in Australia a lot of American swimmers got asthma due to the chlorine in the pool. So chlorine was used at least till the Australian Olympic games - dunno about the present olympics. I'm sure they have better options!

There is no information on if they do use chlorine in your pools. However, there is some mentioned that they you spring water that is warmed.

Research has been done, and some labs have said that chlorine can lead to breathing problems like asthma. The host-country would definitely want their own competitors to win gold medals, and breathing problems can ruin this. Due to this discovery, they do not use chlorine in the pools in the Olympics.

There is no specific answer however, they do use the idolize water that will help naturalize the pool for a better performance.
