Yggdrasil holds the 9 'worlds' together; Odin sacraficed himself by hanging upside down from it for 9 days and 9 nights, pierced with his own spear.

Reply by Arin (247):
In this manner he discovered the runes in the lake (or pool?) beneath Yggdrasil. Urðr, Verðandi, and Skuld live by that lake - they are called 'debt/future' 'fate' and 'happening/present'. They make the fate of all men and gods.  add a comment

Thisis from ancient Norse mythology. The yggdrasil tree, or world tree, is an integral element of Norse mythology. They believed nine worlds existed around the tree. It is held as being very holy, and is where Norse gods went to hold court. It's important because it represents the basic foundation of ancient Norse cosmology.

Yggdrasil is a tree in Norse Mythology around it are the nine worlds. It doesn't have special attributes other than protector of worlds. It is said it will burn at Ragnarok, the end of the world. It is made of Ash so it could be you have Celtic mythology in mind which has enchantment and healing attached to ash wood.
