You cannot sell anything without a title. You need to contact the DMV and find out how you replace the title. You may need your vin number and a proof of sale from when you originally bought it. The DMV will challenge you on your request but remain calm if it's yours you have nothing to worry about.

If you are truly the owner. You can contact your local DMV and request them to send you a replacment title. If they can't do it over the phone, you may need to go there with proof of identity and they will print you off a new one there or mail it to you.

If you have a vin you can simply go to your dmv and have a new title issued. It should cost very much and will show it is not stolen. However if you have no vin there is no way of identifying the bike and no way to prove ownership.

In California you will need to gain a title for your motorcycle. You can still be able to sell the bike, however you will have to sell it private. If you purchase the bike you can always gain a copy from the DMV if needed.

well for one thing what happened to the Title.2 If you lost the Title for your motorcycle go to the Dept. of motor vehicles and apply for another one.3 If you cannot do this you might try going to a "notary of Public and file an affadavit"or a lawyers office.

There really is no way to prove that it is not stolen without the paperwork. You should just get a new copy of the title from the DMV. It shouldn't cost that much and then you can easily sell it.
