If I forgot to cash a paycheck 6 months ago and found it, can my employer keep it?

Your question assumes that you have not lost the check, and simply misplaced it. If this is the case, you must look at the check to see if it was void within 90 days from issue. If it has this in tiny print somewhere near the check amount, it's worthless. Take the check back and get another check cut.

No. Your employer is legally required to pay you for time worked. If you mistakenly forgot to cash a paycheck, your employer should issue you a new check.

If your asking if your employer can void the pay check because you did not cash it in six months since receiving it, no. The check should still be valid at any bank or currency exchange you take it to.

There is a time limit which differs with each state, but six months is not enough time and you can cash the check just fine. It's money provided for your services, they can't take it back for a long while.

No, that money was earned by me from the employer and I have the right to that amount regardless of when it is cashed.
