To keep it simple, black would be the easiest choice. If you want a bright room, you'll go for white or beige, although these are harder to clean and maintain.
Creams, beiges, plums, browns, golds and multi colors are best. No reds, oranges, yellows, greens unless there's exact matching green threads to cordinate but not an entire dark green cough.
I love the look of dark green and burgandy. The colors always completement each other and always go good together. Or, you could get a couch with a dark tan or brown color, maybe with some burgandy somewhere in it.
