Nails is a big business for women, because we are always wanting to look our best. The first thing I would do is find someone that is in the same business I'm trying to get into and ask them to let you shadow them one day. You'll learn a lot.

As with any business venture, first research the industry. Is the market already saturated with nail salons? What role would your business play in the industry, and what niche would your business fulfill? Then examine your resources. Do you have the capital to invest, or can you get a loan?

The most important thing to do is write a detailed business plan. This will force you to consider all aspects of the business, capital, requirements, location, demographics and so forth. 92% of all failed businesses had no business plan, so it is the essential starting point.

You would have to get all of the permits and have all of the licenses that the state requires. You would have to gone to a school about manicuring nails.
