How would I go about changing the oil in a Honda VTX 1300?

you can leave the bike on the stand, remove both oil plugs on bottom of engine, let oil drain into catch pan. remove oil filter, replace plugs, filter, and oil.

Start by warming the engine up. Then either remove the oil drain plug followed by the filer. Install the new filter and re-install he drain plug. Then fill with oil.

Start by warming, then remove the oil cap and drain plug. Next remove the old filter. Apply clean oil to the filter gasket and install. Re-install the plug an refill.
