From what I am aware of there is no way to tighten the main belt on a saturn car. There is something call tension that keeps it tight. Therefore if it breaks, you would need to replace the whole belt.

The belt should automatically tighten itself if your tension pulley is working properly. Check to make sure that you have the correct belt and that it is installed the correct way. there should be a diagram of the belt on the radiator support near the hood latch or on the bottom of the hood.

To tighten the main belt on your car, or any belt on your car, you are going to need a socket and a socket wrench that fit the nut size on the tensioner. Adjust the tensioner to provide slack or tension to the belt.

Older models had a bracket with a bolt to adjust tension on a belt. You just turn the nut on the bracket until it has the right amount of tension. On serpentine belt system they are usually an automatic tensioner. These can usually be adjust and if yours is loose it may need replaced.

If the tension pulley is working, you don't have to tighten it. Otherwise you could use the tensioner to adjust it.
