How do you tighten the alternator belt on a Nissan Quest?

The Nissan Quest has a serpentine belt. This means it cannot be tigntened. It's kept at the proper tension by the tensioner pulley. Either the belt is worn and has stretched, or the tensioner pulley assembly is worn. I would start by replacing the belt since it is cheaper. If this doesn't work, the tensioner will need replaced.

Use heavy duty scissors to remove the shims and small black rings along belt assembly. Check the tautness and the distance of shim from each other. Replace the nut on adjusting bolt and make it tight. start the engine and allow it to run for few minutes and check tightness.

Well assuming that the Nissan Quest uses a serpentine belt you should not have to tighten it. These system use an automatic tensioner to keep the belt tight. If the belt is loose the tensioner may be stuck or broke. The belt itself may be stretched and need replaced. Check the tensioner and replace the belt if needed.

There is an adjuster bolt to the side of the alternator, simply adjust the bolt to tighten the alternator belt.

The machine start and then works the belt with alternator. The alternator is used for charging the battery. the belt is loosed the charging process is not completed then off the vachele and starting is not done the battery charge is low. To thight the adjustable bolt we can tight the belt. After tighting the belt also tighten alternator.
