Best thing to do is go around and check all the locks in your home and garage, or go to a locksmith he can tell the use of the key.

First check it for labels of any sort. if there are none see what sort of key it is, skeleton key, smaller key, or normal key. Once you've examined the key you should begin trying it in every lock that it looks the right size for, starting closest to where you found it. NEVER attempt to force it to fit.
