Cover the brisket in a pot with water, adding the spices in the packet that came with it. Bring to a boil,cover and simmer for three hours.

It is a good idea to slow roast brisket for a long time to allow it to stay tender as well as moist. Make sure not to over cook it.

Brisket as a general rule needs to be cooked VERY slowly at low temperature, usually around 275 degrees until the outer layer is brown. Approximately, two to three hours. Keep in mind that slow cooking will mean the center of the meat will always be a deep pink color, it's still completely done like that though.
