Same way you would tile any other floor. Get outdoor tiles though -- that can withstand the more extreme weather that outdoor spaces are subject to.

Don't tile it. If it can get wet, it'll be so slippery. On visits to Europe, I noticed lots of tiled porches. I personally didn't like them as the slip factor was too dangerous.

I recommend using a porcelain or slate tile as they hold up to weather better than a ceramic tile.
