With a salutation such as "Sincerely", "Yours Truly" or "Truly Yours" - and using your full business name, company title and company name - this will add additional credibility to the letter.

Depending on where you (the writer) stands in the composition of the letter in question, you should always be formal. Phrases such as "Sincerely" "Regards" and "Singed" are a simple, yet formal start. It is usually in the worst interest to use informal greetings unless you are writing a more relaxed, loose letter of address.

Sign a business letter with your full name. Unless you are well-known by a nickname, you should use your legal name (e.g., Robert, not Bob). Your name should be printed beneath the signature; when you create the letter, leave room to sign. Include a title (Dr., Rev.) if business-related.

Business letters should be signed either with "sincerely", or no closing at all. You should leave a space and type your name out, then write your signature above it.
