Just store them in open space where fresh air is available. Never kept them in polythene bags, as these bags suffocate them to die due heat generated inside the polythene and they look like black ointment.

Bananas aren't something that last horribly long even if you find a way to attempt to keep them fresh. Putting them in your fridge will make them last a little bit longer but they will still go bad quicker than you would like. Remember if they start to turn brown you can make Banana Bread!!!

If you put it in a thick Ziploc bag, like one of the Ziploc freezer bags, the banana will stay twice as long.

Bananas will ripen quickly the warmer and more humid it is in the place where you store them, and even under ideal conditions they often do not stay pure yellow very long. Buy them green and store them in a cool dry place, out of direct sunlight.
