Mr. Potato head was invented in 1949 and first distributed in 1952 by Hasbro. Mr. Potato Head was initially a bunch of plastic parts intended to be pressed into real fruits and vegetables. This method was considered wasteful, as this was during wartime where foods were scarce, so then it evolved into the plastic potato we know and love today.

It does seem like it has been around forever. In fact, it is one of the oldest manufactured toys that is still on the market. Mr. Potatohead was invented in 1949. It began being manufactured for mass-production by Hasbro in 1952.

Mr.Potato Head came out in 1952. So that means that he is now fifty eight years old. George Lerner is the man who originally came up with the idea for this toy.

i think that mr. potato head has been around for about fifty years now. i think he probaly came out back in the 1960's or so i use to love that game. its funny because you really never get board.i think that they also came out with a mrs. potato head game too.
