A ferret can live up to 6 to 8 years, so when he is one year old, he is, so to speak, not even in his teens year yet. They can start reproducing at 1 1/2.
One ferret year is equivalent to about nine to eleven human years. That is based on a ferret living about six to eight human years and a human having a lifespan of seventy years. Seventy divided by six is about eleven and seventy divided by eight is about nine. In some cases, ferrets may live pass eight human years.
Ferrets usually live to the age of 8-10 years. So one year old is basically a late teenager to a ferret. They are old enough to breed but not quite done maturing.
