The standard auction times are three, five, or seven days. You can choose the number of days your auction will run for. There is also a "Buy It Now" option, normally used by stores, where an item stays on the site at a fixed price, until it is sold.

It depends entirely on the item's popularity, condition, how many interested buyers there are at a given point in time, the number of similar items for sale, and the asking price. Popular items at a fair price can sell within hours; low-quality items with a limited market may never sell.

I have had items sell instantly. It depends on the demand for your item (look up similar ones), the feasibility of your price, and the time frame that YOU set.

It depends if you have an eBay store or setting up an auction. You can set a time limit on an auction to pretty much whatever you like. Note that eccentric or rare items may take longer to sell. Most common items should probably sell in a day or two.
