Children of 15 months need about 12 to 16 hours of sleep a day because their bodies are in much of a development phase, therefore, they require more sleep than toddlers.

For the average 15-month old child about 5 to 10 hours asleep a night is sufficient. The reason being is that a child will often take a nap during the day and therefore does not need as much sleep at night.
