For the compressor, lines, o-ring kit and freon it will be 500 plus labor. The mechanic might be able to reuse the lines if a proper vacuum is is apply for a decent period of time. Also make sure the mechanic puts a new compressor vs. a remanufactured one have not had much with them.

This depend's on two thing's new or used. You can get one from junk yard for around $20. For a new one might run up to $200 plus labor your looking at $50 to $400,D.Y.I the job and it cost's about $20-$30 and 1 hour to put on.
