How much should I expect to pay to replace a flywheel in a 1995 Chevy Cavalier?

I need an estimate for the parts and labor.

The flywheel itself can be purchased for about $65, so expect a repair shop to price it between $95 - $120. If you are replacing the clutch as well, expect to spend another $250. The labor will be around 5 hours, so about $350, although a transmission shop may do it for about $100 less is you haggle.

Should the clutch be replace if I am going to put in a new flywheel into the car. Would you recommend I buy the flywheel myself? I feel like it will make a little difference in price.  add a comment

In considering this you need to be aware that full removal of the transmission is necessary to complete the job also. It would be in your best interest to find out if it damaged your starter. You need to go ahead an replace the transmission filter and fluid. It will cost around 700-900 dollars.

To get an accurate estimate you really need to call your local shops. They can give you a rough estimate of what it will cost.
