You can fill the oil compartment all the way up. It is better to have more oil on the moving parts than not enough. You are more likely to break a lawn mower from forgeting to put in oil.

Not much. The more oil you put in your lawn mower the easier it will be for the gas chamber being saturated with oil. This will clog up the firing pistons and reduce the lifespan of your machinery. Always check the oil level prior to use. If too full drain until below full capacity.

It depends on your lawn mower. Unscrew the oil cap, it should have a dip stick attached. Check the dip stick, and add oil till it is at the line.

Read the instruction manual for your machine. If it's lost, often you can download it from the manufacturer's website. Both too much and not enough oil are problematic.

Your lawn-mower should have an oil-dip-stick with "minimum" & "maximum" oil-markings. If it reads below the "minimum" oil-marking, add a little oil, replace & tighten the dipstick-cap, and crank the engine without starting it, then check the oil-dip-stick again. Do NOT exceed the "maximum" marking, too-high oil-pressure can damage your-lawnmower.

When adding oil in a push push mower start with 1/2 quart. As it fills keep checking the dip stick to see where the oil level is at. If after adding 1/2 quart the lawn mower is not full add about 1/8 quart at at time until it shows full on the dip stick.

Make sure the old oil is completely drained from the mower. As you add oil to the mower check the dip stick to see the registered amount. When the oil reaches the full mark on the dip stick, your finish. Never over fill the mower.

Every lawn mower is different, so you are going to need to consult your maintenance manual or look it up online. To do this you just look up the model of lawn mower you have and you will find a large amount of information.

The owners manual will tell you and if you are adding oil then you need to pull the dipstick and it will tell you how much oil you need to add to it.
