Question by  hmete (14)

How much money can you make working in the cafeteria for a school district?

I need work that pays a living wage.

Answer by  Darry (3853)

Most school cafeteria jobs pay minimum wage or slightly higher though you may have access to decent benefits. The only school cafeteria staff who might make a higher wage would be the kitchen manager, head cook, or other supervisor. A private school may pay higher wages than a public school for all o its staff.

You're not going to get rich. Here in South Carolina, cafeteria workers make less than teachers, and teachers don't make a whole lot. You can improve your paycheck through tenure or promotion. Cafeteria managers make a pretty decent living. An advantage is that most days you're done in time to work at another part time job.

I can make $2 by working in cafe. But it will not be that much sufficient for a living wage. You should check out in your living area how much they pay in cafe.
