Debutants are the daughters of members of society or organizations to which they have paid membership fees and annual dues for the privilege. Participating in the event depends on where it is and what sort of event it is, what is worn, etc.

It depends on where and through what organization. The fee can range up in to double-digit-thousands, as well as thousands for the dress.

Debutant ball's are very expensive since they are formal occasions. You will have to purchase a formal gown in white along with matching shoes. You will also want to have your hair done professionally and tickets for each guest will cost about $250.00 each.

The term as I understand it, isn't really related to money, but more of society standing. So if you're rich, but you come from a poor family, you're not going to be impressing anyone. I would stay out of company like that in general, poor people are more fun.

You become a debutant if you're in an affluent family. Most debutants pay thousands of dollars in dresses and acessories.

It's a lot! The harder thing to admit, though, is that you have to be born into it. Your parents would have to have the money to start you off.
