Alltel is now owned by Verizon and you can buy messaging only plans. There is a plan for Multimedia 3G phones for $34.99 & one for Smart phones for $54.99. They also offer individual & family Talk & Text plans ranging from $59.99 to $89.99 for individual plans and from $ 99.99 to $149.99 for family plans.

The unlimited text is part of your pick 5 plan. The standard is $39. 99 a month. Its a pretty good deal.

Alltel is no longer a wireless carrier. They merged with Verizon Wireless and in October Verizon took over all of Alltel's stores and all of their wireless companies. Verizon's plans are much more reasonable that Alltel's were and you actually get free unlimited messaging with most of Verizon's cell phone plans.
