Buying the parts and doing it yourself can run about 50-100 dollars. Bringing it to a mechanic it could cost anywhere from 100-200 dollars depending on the mechanic.

I just got an estimate of $300 to replace the brake line on a 98 Chevy Malibu that spent a lot of winters in Rochester NY with all that salt during the winters.

If you have to replace a broken brake line, it is probably the hose. It will cost around $10. 00 dollars to replace it.

There are a lot of variables to consider. The cost of the line itself will be based on what type of tubing is need as well as it's length. The cost of labor to fix the line will depend on the labor rate of the shop you take it to and how difficult of a repair it is.

This is completely unhelpful. Nowhere in this do you mention any price  add a comment

Yeah if your rate is $60 and hour, it should come to about $200-250. If it's $100 and hour (some will rip you off), it will come to $400-500.  add a comment

Depending on the vehicle and application it should cost right around 200-300 dollars for the line to be fixed and to for the brake system to be flushed and bled. It could cost more if you have high quality brake lines that must be replaced. If the brake line doesn't get fixed, your rotors and brakes will warp.

It all depends on the kind of car you need to have the break line fixed on. If its an older car or considered to be a classic it will cost upward of $500. Anything newer around $300 but its only an educated guess. Call a few shops and tell them the make and model.

$500 is a rip off. It only takes a tech about half an hour to replace one on a Chevy Mailbu. $200 to $200 should be your max for one line.  add a comment

It depends if it is a metal line of rubber line. The rubber line is cheaper ($50-80). The metal line might be $80-100.
