The size of the sand mound and its usage will determine the cost. If it to be used by small children in a backyard, a smaller amount of sand is required. It could be purchased in bags from a store such as Home Depot and transported in a pick-up truck. For a larger mound a dump truck may be required.

The total cost of a sand mound must be determined by different factors. First, there is the labor. Second, there are the tools. Third, there is the size of the sand mound. If you pay one man $10 he will build a sand mound. However, if you hand a child a shovel, the child will gladly do it for free.
