Depending on the amount of dry ice that you will need, you should know that if you buy a larger bulk it would be least expensive.

If your in the US, it runs between 1 to 3 dollars per pound, depending on your local market. Around 1 hour of "fog"/pound @ 70 degrees F without water.

At my local grocery store it is 99 cents per pound. In some places, you will have to order it in advance. Plan to buy one pound per every 2-3 minutes of effect that you want. Be careful not to touch it with your bare hands, and not to let children or pets stay inside the fog.

Dry ice costs vary among retailers, but you can usually buy it for about one dollar per pound, plus shipping costs.
