The cost of copper varies almost on a daily basis. The price is determined with many variables which can include but are not limited to the supply and demand. In recent months the price has been as high as $7.50 per pound for scrap copper and as low as $1.85 per pound.

At the current moment within the United States, copper is running around four dollars and thirty two cents per pound. Keep in mind that copper, like other metals will fluctuate in cost due to various conditions in the market. Hope that helps.
