Lunch boxes represent too wide a range of types and styles (as well as ages and conditions) to give a blanket answer. One very good source of information would be a lunchbox collectors club or newsletter, or a good antiques price guide from your local bookstore or library. Antique once meant 100 years or more...it's much vaguer now.

Anything from the early to mid twentieth century is valuable, if it's in VERY good condition. The most valuable ones can go for a few hundred, to a few thousand dollars. As always, check with a professional antique dealer to find out what collectors are looking for right now.
