Can you give me some suggestions for different types of sandwich fillings that would be safe for a lunch box?

This would be for kids and adults.

The most commonly used "safe" filling for a lunch box sandwich is peanut butter. Other fillings include salt cured meat because the salt acts as a preservative. Do not use mayonaise on any sandwich that is not going to be eaten immediately. Various cheeses are also good fillers.

I would sometimes give my children a sandwich called Fluffernutter. It has peanut butter and marshmallow cream spread between two pieces of bread. I would use wheat bread to try to cut down on calories.

Well, peanut butter and jelly is a classic that will never die and be traditionally lunchbox friendly. I would suggesting for other fillings like meat, you can put all the fillings and bread in a zip lock back in the lunch bag and some ice in a packet.
