It only takes four years of Dental school before you earn your degree. However, all dental schools are very competitive and require applicants to exceed the instated course and extracurricular requirements. All applicants are also required to have a B.Sc. or B.A. degree.

T get a degree to practice dentistry first one has to complete a Bachelor of Science which typically takes four years. Once accepted into dental school there is four more years of training required before you become a dentist. So the total is 8 years education after high school.

It requires 8 years post-high scool to acquire a DDS degree. Those 8 years consist of 4 years of college. This degree will be in the sciences. Many colleges have pre-dental school curriculm. Followed by 4 years of Dental school. Upon completion of that, along with taking of your professional license exam, you will be a licensed dentist
