The Canadian show, Degrassi High ran for 5 seasons, 1987 to 1991. There is also Degrassi the Next Generation, which started in 2001 and is in its tenth season (currently) on MTV in the US.
The orginal Degrassi began in 1979 and was aired on the Canandian network CTV and in the United States on PBS. It's many sequals have aired continuously and most recently have found a home on TeenNick. Counting from the beginning there have been over 21 years of Degrassi and has shown no signs of slowing down.
