Depending on the brand and the person, it can take at anywhere from 4-8 weeks for the hormone a pregnant woman releases to be detected in a urine test. However, a blood test is able to detect it much sooner but a negative reading may be inaccurate before 2 weeks.

The egg is fertilized 6 to 12 days before implantation, when a test will work. You should test on the first day you miss your period.

This depends on the test; some claim to detect pregnancy after about twenty days, but you can get a pretty good result at 28.

You can get a positive pregnancy test about ten to fourteen days after you ovulate, thought everyone's levels of hormone can vary. If you know when you actually ovulated, fourteen days is usually long enough to get an accurate result.
