How many cartons of cigarettes can I bring on an airplane?

In my experience, I was allowed to bring two cartons of cigarettes per person. It all depends on the state law's, some allow one as others allow two or three.

Most airlines limit a person to two cartons of cigarettes per person for carry on luggage. This is because two cartons is considered the maximum for personal use. However, if you put your cartons in your checked luggage, you can bring as many as you wish. I would recommend calling the airline ahead of time.

Two cartons is usually the maximum considered for personal use. If you will need more cigarettes then that you could look into mailing them to where you will be staying for pick up on your arrival.

In the United States no more than 2 cartons are allowed to be brought in or out of the country. I assume it is the same for travel within the country as well. To be certain I would recommend you call the airline so that way you aren't forced to choose between your smokes and your flight.

It all depends on the country you'll be departing or arriving in. The laws with check-in luggages or hand carries differ but usually 2 packs with you is fine.
