If Valium is given by mouth it will last approximately 1-2 hours, but if the Valium is given rectally, it will last approximately 30-60 minutes. The duration of the Valium is also dependant on the weight and size of the dog. Please consult your vet if the medication does not seem to be lasting as recommended.

Usually the valium will stay in your system for at least 24 hours. So, for a dog it may be longer. Give your dog plenty of fluids and it should work its way off.

It depends on the dosage and size of your dog. Also it would depend if the drug were given by injection or by mouth. On a full or empty stomach??
