Royal gelatin began making gelatin products in 1925. The company, which had a strong consumer following, was bought out by Jel Sert in December 2000. You can also purchase pudding and flans under the Royal name.

According to their website, their company began in the United States in 1926 under the name of Jel Sert. They expanded to Canada in 2007 as Jel Sert Canada. They produce a number of popular items such as Royal Pudding, Otter Pops, and Hawaiian Punch.
