It usually takes an hour for the body to process one drink. So if you drink a 12pack of beer, it'll take twelves hours from when you started drinking.

Liquor can last a long time, usually longer than a lifetime granted that the container has some sort of cap on it. The only liquors that will not last more than about a year or two are ones with cream.
