A cat's gestation period is 9 weeks. Her nipples begin to get a bit swollen at 3 weeks, but she won't usually start to gain weight and get a round belly until 5 weeks along. She will continue to gain weight and her stomach will keep getting bigger until she delivers the kittens.

You can usually tell that a cat is pregnant 3-4 weeks into pregnancy. You'll see pinking of the nipples and should be able to palpate fetuses then.

It is nearly impossible to tell until a cat is pregnant until three weeks when her nipples begin to turn pink. At five weeks, her belly will show enlargement.
