It depends on each individual, when it was diagnosed, and how closely they follow the doctors recommendations. Usually, if treatment was started early, a person can fully recover in 1 to 2 weeks. If the disease process was not found early, then it will take longer and may require hospitalization.

I know a great many people that have it and as far as I know there is no true cure for it I know it will kind of come and go and that they have treatment for it but as far as I know there is no real cure you just kind of have to learn to live with it.

It all depends on how badly you have it it can take anywhere from a week to a couple months and it depends on how well you respond to treatment.

There is no common length of recovery for diverticulitis. Some patients can deal with this disorder for a life time. While food and lifestyle may factor in on the recovery time, you must always seek to prevent causing an attack rather than trying to deal with the recovery part of the disease.

Diverticulitis is the formation of pouches on the outside of the colon. Usually can be controlled by what you eat, no nuts or small seeds of any kind. Antibiotics are the common cure. Usually a 10 day dose. If more severe, IV antibiotics might be administered. If an abscess, fistula or peritonitis develop, surgery will probably be required. Longer recovery.
