Tetanus shots normally are good for 10 years. Some doctors recommend a booster after 5 years. That depends on hod bad the injury is. It would be determined by the doctor if you need another one.

Today's tetanus boosters are good for up to five years, but effectiveness decreases over times and you will likely be given a fresh one any way in the ER.

If you haven't been stuck by anything rusty in the last three years you should be fine, if you have, the next time you get injured you should get one, otherwise you should get a booster every 10 years.

Tetanus shots do need to be periodically re-taken. Usually, however, they last for around seven years before you have to get another one.

it actually depends. for instance, pregnant women should get at least 5 shots starting from first prenatal visit, and the 5th shot is effective for almost 20 years.
